Colorado is under federal OSHA jurisdiction which covers most private sector workers within the state. State and local government workers are not covered by federal OSHA.
Underground facilities
Colorado has a single statewide notification system administered by an association of owners and operators of underground facilities. By providing notice of intent to excavate to the system, excavators can obtain crucial information regarding the location of underground facilities prior to excavation and thereby greatly reduce the likelihood of damage to any underground facility or injury to a person working at the site. The rules are found in C.R.S. §§ 9-1.5-101 — 9-1.5-108.
