Tennessee follows the federal OSHA safety and health program requirements. Federal OSHA does not currently require a written safety and health plan, though Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act requires employers to provide a safe and healthy workplace, free from recognized hazards.
Tennessee’s Division of Workers’ Compensation does have some additional requirements, including those for safety committees.
