A summary of the additional requirements includes the following:
- Excursions in worker exposure levels may exceed 3 times the PEL-TWA for no more than a total of 30 minutes during a workday, and under no circumstances should they exceed 5 times the PEL-TWA, provided that the PEL-TWA is not exceeded.
- To prevent or reduce skin absorption, an employee's skin exposure to substances listed in Oregon Table Z-1 with an "X" in the Skin Designation column following the substance name must be prevented or reduced to the extent necessary in the circumstances through the use of gloves, coveralls, goggles, or other appropriate personal protective equipment, engineering controls, or work practices.
- Oregon has developed its own permissible exposure limits for air contaminants, corresponding to the federal tables Z-1, Z-2, and Z-3 under 29 CFR §1910.1000. To find the exposure limits in Oregon, refer to table Z-1, Z-2, and Z-3 under 437-002-0382 Division 2/Z; Toxic and Hazardous Substances; Oregon Rules for Air Contaminants.
