The New York regulations for Workers’ Compensation include provisions for safety and health programs upon the recommendation of a consultant. The implementation of a safety incentive program can also allow for a credit against workers’ compensation insurance premiums or, where applicable, a reduction in self-insurance security deposit. Although, the development of a program is not specifically required in general, the establishment of such a program can help an employer identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
