Federal: 29 CFR 1910.1450 Occupational exposure to hazardous chemicals in laboratories
A summary of the additional requirements includes the following:
- Report of use requirements under 5203.
- Anatomy, histology, and pathology laboratories are covered under 5217 (Formaldehyde).
- California covers laboratory-type hoods in 5154.1 (Ventilation Requirements for Laboratory-Type Hood Operations), involving requirements that are more extensive.
- California requires that the person supervising, directing, or evaluating the initial employee exposure monitoring be competent in industrial hygiene practice.
