Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health (Kentucky OSH) standards are a combination of state-specific standards, OSHA standards incorporated with state-specific provisions, and OSHA standards incorporated by reference.
Kentucky OSH has a state specific standard for construction related to working with electrical supply lines in excess of 600 volts. Requirements for employers include:
- Allowing only qualified employees to work near energized, high voltage conductors or equipment;
- Supplying and requiring the use of personal protective equipment to employees working on or near energized, ungrounded conductors or equipment;
- Ensuring proper use of lockout/tagout procedures for employees working on de-energized equipment;
- Training on proper procedures for any employees working on de-energized equipment; and more.
The full standard is available at the link below.
