Florida incorporates by reference the federal regulations for Non-Hazardous Solid Waste and Recycling; however, the state adds further requirements.
A summary of the additional requirements includes the following:
- Any person in this state who handles, purchases, receives, recovers, sells or is an end user of 600 tons or more of recovered materials must annually report to the Department, and to all counties from which it received materials, certain information for the preceding calendar year
- Florida Statute 403.7046 - Florida businesses dealing with over 600 tons per year of any recovered material (paper, glass, plastic, metals/aluminum, textiles, and/or non-tire rubber) are required by law to apply for annual certification and report their recovered materials.
- Florida Administrative Code 62-701.730(12) - Construction and demolition debris recycled and disposed must be reported in tons by county of origin in an annual report.
