Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
Hawaii has a law that indicates that the obligation to continue the employee's coverage of the group prepaid health care plan, must not exceed a period of three months following the month during which the employee became hospitalized or disabled from working, or the period for which the employer has undertaken the payment of the employee's regular wages in such case, whichever is longer.
Outside of the Prepaid Health Care Act, federal COBRA applies.
