Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
Florida follows federal COBRA, but has laws with provisions that cover employees not covered by federal COBRA. As of July 1, 2005, the state law requires that a qualified beneficiary must give written notice to the carrier within 63 days after the occurrence of a qualifying event. (§627.6692)
