Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
Delaware enacted a law in 2012 allowing qualified individuals who are covered by small employer plans to continue their coverage at their own cost for up to nine months after termination of coverage. Policies renewed or delivered or issued for delivery on or after June 21, 2012 must allow covered employees or eligible dependents whose coverage under the group policy would otherwise terminate because of a qualifying event to continue coverage.
