South Carolina has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).
Part 393 applies to a commercial motor vehicle and its driver, operating in intrastate commerce with a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight, or gross combination weight rating equal to or exceeding 26,001 pounds, or a commercial motor vehicle and its driver, transporting hazardous materials required to be placarded.
