Nevada has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), and subsequent revisions.
Part 393 applies to intrastate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, or gross combination weight of 26,001 or more pounds, or any vehicle transporting hazardous materials as defined in NRS 459.7024.

| Mudflaps | Mudguards must be suspended behind the rear wheels on vehicles or combinations having a manufacturer's GVWR ≥ of 26,000 lbs. |
| Tires | Studded Tires - No tire may have any block, flange, cleat, ridge, bead, or any other protuberance of metal or wood projecting beyond the tread surface. Exception: Studded tires may be used between October 1 and April 30. |
| Tire Chains - Under certain ice or snow conditions, roads may be posted with signs stating tire chains are required. Vehicles or combinations over 10,000 pounds not equipped with chains on at least two driving wheels and at least two braking wheels on each trailer will not be allowed to proceed.
