CMV parts and maintenance - Arkansas
Arkansas has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), including all future amendments.
Part 393 applies to any self-propelled or towed motor vehicle used on a highway in intrastate and interstate commerce when the vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 10,001 pounds or more, or is of any size transporting a placardable amount of hazardous materials.

| Mudflaps | Trailers, trucks, truck/tractors, and/or semitrailers > 10,000 lbs. GVWR must have splashguards directly to the rear of the rearmost wheels. |
| Tires | Studded Tires - No tire may have blocks, studs, flanges, cleats, spikes, or other protuberances of any material other than rubber projecting beyond the tread surface. Exception: Metal studded tires with studs protruding not more than one-sixteenth inch from the surface of the rubber tread are allowed on motor vehicles operated on the public highways during the period from November 15 of each year until April 15 of the following year. |
| Tire Chains - Chains of reasonable proportions may be used on any vehicle when required for safety. |
