Alaska has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), revised as of March 15, 2023.
Part 393 applies to a self-propelled or towed vehicle that has a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, gross combination weight of 14,000 pounds or more, or is used to transport hazardous materials.
Mudflaps | All trucks must be equipped with anti-spray devices not more than 14 inches off the ground. |
Tires | Tire Chains - It is permissible to use tire chains because of snow, ice, or other conditions which may cause a vehicle to skid. |
