The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, Labor and Industrial Division, Student Labor Section administers the child labor laws and investigates possible violations concerning minors.
Work age
Youths must be:

Youths under 14 or older may work:
Youths 16 and older may work:
7 am to 9 pm for messengers.
Permits
Youth 16 and under must have an employment certificate issued by local school officials or New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions.
Postings
Employers must post a list of all youth having labor permits.

The Department of Labor is the sole federal agency that monitors child labor and enforces child labor laws. Enforcement of the Fair Labor Standard Act's child labor provisions is handled by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department’s Employment Standards Administration.
