In Wyoming, a person may not use a handheld electronic wireless communication device to write, send or read a text-based communication while operating a vehicle.
This prohibition does not apply to:
- Communication with law enforcement or other emergency services;
- Use by law enforcement and emergency personnel;
- Use of voice operated or hands-free technology;
- Use when the vehicle is lawfully parked; or
- Writing, reading, selecting or entering a phone number or name to make or receive a phone call.
