Although it is recommended when feasible, there is no requirement to orient a label so that it is square on point (diamond) on a package so that any text is horizontal reading from left to right. Some small packages are too small to permit a square on point orientation and many packages may be transported in different orientations. In other instances, labels may be attached to a tag, rendering the square on point orientation meaningless.
