Can labels be oriented other than square on point (diamond) so any text is horizontal reading from left to right?

Although it is recommended when feasible, there is no requirement to orient a label so that it is square on point (diamond) on a package so that any text is horizontal reading from left to right. Some small packages are too small to permit a square on point orientation and many packages may be transported in different orientations. In other instances, labels may be attached to a tag, rendering the square on point orientation meaningless.
