The grain handling standard at 1910.272 protects workers exposed to dust fires and explosions, as well as engulfment or entrapment in grain or grain handling equipment. Employers must also comply with all other relevant provisions of part 1910. Examples of required standards include permit-required confined space entry (1910.146), personal protective equipment (1910 Subpart I), and walking-working surfaces (1910 Subpart D).
