Alcoholic beverage transportation - District of Columbia
Permits
Transport Permits for the transportation of alcoholic beverages in the District of Columbia are required only for holders of a retailer’s license from the District of Columbia.
Fees
The fee for the permit is $5. Payment is due at the time of application. Payment can be made in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, business check, attorney's check, personal check, or money order. A check or money order must be made payable to the D.C. Treasurer. Payment may also be made by Visa or MasterCard. If a check is not honored by your bank for the payment of an obligation due to the District of Columbia, a penalty of $65 will be imposed by the Office of Tax and Revenue. An additional penalty of $100 will be imposed by the Alcohol Beverage and Cannabis Administration.

No special bonds are needed to transport alcoholic beverages out of, through, or within the District of Columbia.
