Utah has adopted 390.15 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), as amended through June 22, 2023. Section 390.15 includes accident recordkeeping requirements.
Section 390.15 applies to an intrastate commercial vehicle:
- With a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross vehicle weight (GVW), gross combination weight rating (GCWR), or gross combination weight (GCW) of 26,001 or more pounds and is operated by an individual who is 18 years old or older;
- With a GVWR or GCWR of 16,001 or more pounds if the vehicle is operated by an individual under 18-years old; or
- Used to transport placardable hazardous materials.
