Oklahoma has adopted 390.15 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs). Section 390.15 includes accident recordkeeping requirements.
Section 390.15 applies to intrastate drivers of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating, or a gross vehicle weight or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more, or transporting hazardous materials requiring the vehicle to be placarded
Accident reporting - Motor carrier
| Notification | The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident must notify the local police department, if such accident occurs within a municipality, or the office of the county sheriff or the nearest office of the State Highway Patrol. If an accident results in bodily injury to, or the death of any person, or property damage > $300, the operator shall forward a written report of such accident to the Department of Public Safety if settlement has not been made within 6 months If a settlement has been made, such settlement must be reported. |
