Nevada has adopted 390.15 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), and subsequent revisions. Section 390.15 includes accident recordkeeping requirements.
Section 390.15 applies to intrastate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, or gross combination weight of 26,001 or more pounds, or any vehicle transporting hazardous materials as defined in NRS 459.7024.

Notification | When a driver is involved in an accident that was not investigated by a law enforcement agency, a written or electronic report of the accident must be submitted by the driver if any of the following occurred:
If a driver is physically unable to make the report, the driver is not required to file the report during the driver's period of incapacity. If the driver is not the owner of the vehicle, the owner must make the report not made by the driver. A “Report of Traffic Crash” form (SR-1) may be accessed at: https://roar-assets-auto.rbl.ms/documents/56019/sr1.pdf. The filing of an accident report is not required if the accident is investigated by local law enforcement. |

Procedure | A crash report may be obtained from the regional office in the area in which the crash occurred. The report request form may be accessed at: https://nhp.nv.gov/Reports/Crash_Report_Request/. |
