Missouri has adopted 390.15 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs). Section 390.15 includes accident recordkeeping requirements.
Section 390.15 applies to commercial motor vehicles operated in intrastate commerce which have a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, or vehicles transporting hazardous materials.

| Notification | If an owner or operator of a motor vehicle is involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist, it should be reported to the Department of Revenue if the accident resulted in:

Obtaining an accident report
| Procedure | A copy of an official accident report (investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol) may be obtained by writing to the Patrol. A “Request for Traffic Crash Report” form is available at: https://tinyurl.com/CrashMO1. Requests for copies of reports of motor vehicle traffic accidents investigated by agencies other than the Missouri State Highway Patrol should be directed to the investigating agency. The Missouri State Highway Patrol does not provide copies of accident reports which are investigated by other agencies. |
