OSHA issued an interpretation that says the use of online, self-paced computer-based training, by itself, generally would not be sufficient to satisfy OSHA training requirements unless that training:
- Contains interactive and hands-on components; and
- Provides the opportunity for workers to be able to ask questions of, and receive responses from, a qualified trainer(s), in a timely manner.
OSHA adds that it’s important to check applicable regulations to make sure you meet all training requirements. Source: OSHA Letter of Interpretation 7/11/2019.
