The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations include Part 392, called “Driving of Commercial Motor Vehicles.” This part outlines various requirements concerning the operation of the vehicle itself: the condition of the driver and vehicle, the use of warning devices when the vehicle is stopped, fueling precautions, texting and cell-phone restrictions, and a few other miscellaneous requirements.
The regulations in Part 392 apply to motor carriers and drivers of commercial motor vehicles involved in interstate commerce.
