The Export and Import of Hazardous Wastes and Hazardous Recyclable Material Regulations(the Export and Import Regulations) were published in Part II of the Canada Gazette in June 2005, and came into force on November 1, 2005.
Scope
The Export and Import Regulations apply to all businesses and individuals that export from, import into, or transit through Canada, for recycling or disposal purposes, wastes or materials that are considered to be hazardous under the regulations.

Summary of requirements
If a material is accompanied by a shipping document that states it is a dangerous good, then that material is subject to the requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Clear Language Regulations.
