The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) conducts thousands of audits each year to enforce the motor carrier safety and hazardous materials regulations. If you are an interstate motor carrier or in-state-only carrier that transport hazardous materials, you may be a target of one of these audits.
To survive an FMCSA audit, you need to know the types of audits being conducted, what to expect during the audit, and how to prepare. And, of course, you need make sure you have all required documentation in place.
