PPE: Maintenance Area - Grinding Wheel Answers
- Not wearing proper PPE. Eye protection, such as safety glasses or a face shield, must be worn when employee is exposed to eye hazards from flying particles. Shirt should be made of flame-retardant material.

- Sparks from grinding wheel may ignite flammable and combustible material in work area. Paint and acetylene torch should be removed. Rags should be removed from immediate work area.

- Unsafe work practices. It is a good safety practice to secure the part being ground with a vice or clamp, and to hold the grinder so that the guard is between the worker and the contact area.
