PPE: Gloves

Use this exercise to improve inspection skills and teach employees to recognize and prevent workplace hazards.

PPE: Gloves Answers

  1. Improper glove removal. The employee should not touch the outside (contaminated surface) of the glove during removal. Also, the cuff should have been folded to prevent solvent from dripping onto the worker’s arm above the glove.
    Related information:
  2. Contaminated PPE. The gloves and the safety glasses were dropped in the sink where they could become contaminated and unfit for use.
    Related information:
  3. Improper eye protection. The safety glasses in the sink are appropriate for impact resistance, but the employee should have been wearing goggles to protect against chemical splash when working with solvents.
    Related information:
  4. Potential contamination of personal items. The employee is wearing a watch with a cloth band. A splash of solvent could not only damage the watch, but a contaminated watch band would be in contact with the worker’s skin.
