Knowledge Check: Hazmat driving and parking: Answer
Answer: No. The Hazardous Materials Regulations, specifically 177.800(d), states that all shipments of hazardous materials must be transported without unnecessary delay, from and including the time of commencement of the loading of the hazardous material until its final unloading at destination. With that said, if your house was on the route and you needed to stop due to HOS requirements or any other driver related requirements, that might be permissible. You can only stay long enough to meet the requirements you are stopping for.
