ISO 14001 stakeholder identification and interests

In the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management there is a requirement to identify parties interested in their operations. The standard goes on to require that certified operations take into consideration what their stakeholders are interested in and then how those can potentially be addressed by the environmental management system.

This chart provides examples of interested parties that can exist for an operation and what the interests of those stakeholders may be. This list is not meant to be exhaustive, as each site and business will have different stakeholders, however it can be used as a thought starter to begin the identification process.
