Sec. 390.15 applies to vehicles operating intrastate with a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more, or transporting hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placarding.
The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury or death of any person, property damage to an apparent extent of at least $1,000, or resulting in any vehicle becoming so disabled as to prevent its normal and safe operation, must immediately by the quickest means of communication give notice of the accident to local law enforcement.
A copy of an officer’s crash report may be obtained by writing to the Wyoming Department of Transportation and sending the required fee. Requests must include the name(s) of the driver(s) involved, the date and location of the crash, the case number (if you have it), and your phone number and email address.
A fee of $3.00 is charged for each crash report.
