This is held the first Friday of April in the U.S. and was declared in 2004 by Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy G. Thompson. The day encourages Americans to walk to work and to incorporate exercise into the workday. Consider promoting walk breaks to motivate employees to get active. Remote employees can be encouraged to walk on this day at least 30 minutes — even if in their own neighborhood.
